Silk Plums | Shiny Mules

Somedays it's just easier to choose a color and run with a monochromatic look, as opposed to rummaging through different color combinations and wondering if they go together then leaving the house and later realizing, nope.

I think that if you're combining multiple shades of one color the least you can do is make sure all the pieces are well tailored and clean-cut enough so that the look doesn't get too messy and seems cohesive. I learned this in graphic design, but it very much applies to fashion ---don't have too many showponies! I know you may have lots of pieces you love and may want to wear in a day, but a solid bet is centering your look around just one. It's not easy on the eyes, and you don't want 4 different silhouettes or details stepping all over each other.
